  • I like the lack of karma. Generally I’m using the up/down vote options to express my dis/approval, just like you’ve stated they’re for. Given how different things can be across instances it seems I’ll just have to relearn how I view and interact with Lemmy over Reddit.

Aside from the much smaller user base and communities, I prefer Lemmy 100%. I’m learning to enjoy the smaller user base since it’s also lacking the huge amount of bots and trolls.

  • I’ve read about the disabling of voting and find it interesting. I enjoy the voting system because it gives me an easy way to interact with a post without having to comment. I usually only downvote if the post is low effort/slop, or the poster/commenter is just being a troll.

    Thanks for your input.

The car I drive has buttons and dials for most everything I’d use the screen for, and Siri takes care of the rest. I love it for visual navigation and ease of use, but I need the buttons. I drove my mom around in her car and it has almost no buttons. It was terrible.

They should be physical buttons. Almost everything should have physical buttons so that we can make adjustments without taking our eyes off the road. I love my CarPlay, but I love more that the car has a set of physical buttons to control most everything about it.

The drug I have to take to live costs anywhere from $4,000-$5,500/month without insurance. This is actually cheaper than what I was on before—a cocktail of 4 drugs, some taken multiple times a day, that was almost $10,000/month. I’m lucky(?) that there are a ton of programs that together cover the cost for me. Unfortunately there are hoops I have to jump through every month to continue qualifying for the assistance and have to regularly take time off from work to make the appointments. I’ve lost jobs due to this, but am currently working a position where my manager is happy enough with my work to fudge time cards to help me out.

    I hate this country.
