Disagree. I’ve worked on some projects that would absolutely fall apart without our PMs. They are vital.
I was you for a while but now when I feel myself getting wrapped into something that I know will keep me awake [mostly projects] I had to develop the habit of putting it off until the first thing in the morning. I actually think I end up spinning my wheels much, much less when I attack big problems first thing in the morning.
I turned working 3rd shift into working at 6am and I have zero regrets. I can BE a night person, EASILY, but I love that my sleep is now sun-bound, mostly.

Mate I love starting work at 6 AM. Being able to finish work before the early afternoon and having both the post-lunch rush over, pre-rush-hour on the highways, and almost all establishments empty is such a blessing. It’s a major life change from working third shift.
