  • I’ve got a Surface Go 2 running Kubuntu and it’s been running fine. Performance overall seems to be better compared to Windows, and the touchscreen works fine as well.

I’ve experienced some kinks with the Surface Pen’s responsiveness in that sometimes drop-down dialogues won’t be properly selectable with the pen, it’s skipping options for some reason if I hover over one, so I have to use my finger instead.

Apart from that, I have an extra program for an on-screen keyboard since, for some reason, the pre-installed on-board keyboard is only available when logging on the device.

Most multitouch functionality is also available right out of the box, like pressing the screen with two fingers at the same time to simulate a right-click.

  • I hear you. Took me some time get it working myself, but there’s also a plug-and-play solution as well. Got it for like 20€ off AliExpress for convenience’s sake, so I don’t have to connect a PC to run the jailbreak every time.

Ooh, cool! I see the appeal, but apart from my teen years, I haven’t been much of a PC gamer. Or rather I never bought any games on Steam which I could run on a SD. You probably have a big enough library? And will you be getting the dock too?

  • PSP was my first ('98 here), the 360 my second, a 3DS my third. I probably spent thousand of hours on my PSP, so I’d go for PSP probably. Jailbroke my childhood PSP a year ago or so and enjoyed playing a bunch of games I couldn’t get. Also jailbroke my 3DS and gave it to my partner as a birthday gift so she could play all the Layton games which she grew up with.

A couple years ago, my obsession was probably the GBA, though. Growing up, we couldn’t really afford any consoles, so my only experiences with Pokemon and stuff was via emulators on my PC. Had a period of them where I’d buy old GBAs, shell-swap them, restore old games and their batteries and fun stuff like that. Haven’t touched the couple I have for some time now, sadly

  • Base PS4 or Pro? If the former, a Pro could be a pretty good upgrade. Also not super expensive compared to the base model.

A PS5 is, of course, also nice if your budget allows it. Been happy with mine since its release. Feels like a real step-up compared to the entire PS4 line, even if you’re only interested in PS4 games.

Also, check the firmware of your PS4 in case you haven’t updated it recently. You could potentially jailbreak it and unlock heaps more potential. Emulation and stuff, for example.

  • Honestly, if you dig tattoos and have the money to spend on them, why not? A friend of mine also got a bunch of tattoos in a really short time, probably also like 4-5 within a year or so, and has been very happy with them. Tattoos are for your enjoyment first and foremost, so who’s to tell you when you’ve had enough?

I just got my second one back in November and am really happy with it. Already brainstorming ideas for new ones. Really does feel like once you’ve started, there’s no stopping. But money’s always an issue for as long as my apprenticeship is going on

  • Ok so far. School’s started again which I’m not thrilled about, really. I got to SLP school and went to an apprenticeship for four weeks and had three weeks of a semester break afterwards. Three weeks is pretty much the longest time off I’ve had since I started the apprenticeship, so it felt really good to have some time off, but I don’t really feel all that relaxed.

The stress of filling out our schedules with new patients has immediately kicked in in class, which I’m usually not that affected by but certainly has its toll on me. Our final exam next year is stressing people out, exams that are due soon are stressing people out even more. It’s difficult to tune things out for oneself, but I’m doing what I can to not let things get to me too much.

Thjngs could be worse for sure, though.
