    I wonder why they didn’t push for the death penalty. Japan has it, and you’d think that premeditated political assassination would be a capital crime.

      Basically the assassins allegations against Shinzo Abe held up and there would be enormous public outrage at executing him.

      They can’t kill him without turning him into a martyr.
