In addressing the Choi family’s wrongful death lawsuit, a city lawyer told a judge in January 2025 the police have no obligation to go and arrest someone like Rickman if he is not at the scene.

At that hearing, the judge asked the city’s lawyer: “A police officer could still sit back and do nothing in response to a complaint by a domestic violence victim because there’s no duty to look for the abuser?” The city’s lawyer answered, “That’s correct …”

John Justice, the attorney representing the city and the Lakewood Police Department, said he could not comment on pending litigation.

This story is so upsetting. There were multiple complaints detailing his escalating behavior. They failed this poor woman and the attitude above says it all…

However, if you tell the police that someone is loitering outside a shop and you think they look suspicious they will rush to the scene.

Police are not there to protect the public, they are intended to protect property.

Rickman was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

That was a rough article. Here’s hoping he has a long, dehumanizing life as a prison bitch.

Very rough read but I started and was invested. Bastards didn’t reveal until very late that he’d been caught.
