It’s only the state supreme court, so they can’t affect other states.

Essentially how this is going to go:

Republicans have control and Democrats make a map: can’t use it. (Texas)

Republicans have control and Republicans make a map: can use it. (Louisiana)

Democrats have control and make a map: Republicans push all the way to SCOTUS, they’ll say you can’t use it. (Still waiting for this to happen to California.)

Democrats have control and Republicans make a map: Republicans will push to SCOTUS, they’ll say you have to use it. (Not sure if this is happening anywhere currently)
