I’m looking for an alternative to MS Sticky Notes. I like stick notes, but it doesn’t sync with Android and allow for a note to be pinned to my home screen.

I’d like a FOSS version, but not married to it. I don’t mind self hosting if I need to. I’m testing out Notezilla and I’m not sure I want to pay the $30 for it without knowing what else is out there.

Thanks!

Summary.

  1. Windows app that syncs with Android.
  2. Notes stick to desktop.
  3. No subscription fee.

Are you aware that Post It has an app? IIRC it’s totally free on phones. I don’t know about Windows sync but it’s worth looking into for phones.

What do you define as “sticky note”?

You could use Standard Notes and leave the window open. It syncs between desktop and Android.

I switched to something else a long time ago, but because I preferred FOSS, not because it was a bad app.

I tried it out for a while and I ended using Notesnook a while back when I was looking for some other note taking app. It was so close to being the thing I wanted to use, but it doesn’t render markdown while typing.

A sticky note would stay on the desktop. And could be “pinned” on top of other apps. It would have to take up a small amount of the screen and not be browser based.

I can very warmly recommend UpNote although it’s not sticky notes as such, it is an excellent note taking app that I use for mostly anything!

They have a sticky note feature but it is not what sticky notes usually are. For them it’s the option to keep the note floating on top of other windows.

Still, UpNote is really awesome if you ask me. Really worth a try!

        Yeah

        $1.99/month or $39.99 Lifetime

You could try. A few months and test it before offering the $40 for a once off fee. I feel that it is a very fair price all considering
