Solving percents. I use this to predict gross and net of my paychecks when I do my budget.
Net X ------ = ------ Gross 100 (GrossX) = (Net × 100) GrossX ÷ (Net × 100) = X Example; 200 X ------ = ------- 250 100 Step A 200 × 100 = 20000 Now 250X = 20000 Step B 20000÷250=80 Therefore X=80 Also expressed as 80% of 250 = 200.
It’s also kinda handy when figuring out sales and stuff at the store, sometimes.
Check out ‘Monster Eater’, that’s the premise of the MC’s story.
Sigilos@ttrpg.networkto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Those of you that back your vehicle into parking spots, why do you do it?4·1 month agoDepends on the car and the parking lot, for me. When I drive my mom someplace we use her van, it’s easier for her to get in and out that way. This van has a shorter front end, and no backup camera to compensate, so I back in and pull out of spaces so I have better views as I’m moving.
When I drive my sedan with my wife and kids, I pull in to spaces and back out, because the sedan has a much longer front end and a great backup camera/radar alert system that makes backing out of spaces the safer option.

Necrobiotic by Penny for a Tale. It’s pretty cool, although i use it as a guide for world creation with DnD games rather then playing in the created system.

Why would I go beyond that?
Besides, I can also share thoughts with those I do know without speech. I text my wife when I don’t want the kids to hear our joke, I can even include pictures to get the message across if I don’t have the words.
Sigilos@ttrpg.networkto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If all your basic needs were met and you didn't have to work to get by, what would you do with your life?6·2 months agoBe a librarian. I always felt like being a custodian to knowledge was a noble pursuit, and I respect librarians alot for it. I never went into the field myself because I couldn’t afford the schooling just to get a job that in my area, doesn’t pay very well. If pay wasn’t a problem? Hoo boy!
Sigilos@ttrpg.networkto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If I snapped you back in time 650 years right this very second, how would you use your current knowledge to succeed?41·2 months agoI love it! Predict that a large empire of equals will fall after 250 years.
Sigilos@ttrpg.networkto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If I snapped you back in time 650 years right this very second, how would you use your current knowledge to succeed?251·2 months agoMarket myself as a powerful man of religion and/or magician, depending on the local vibe. Then use knowledge of science and tech to build myself a reclusive retreat where I can have regular baths and write books with predictions to mess with the world 650 years after I would die.
Wow, eldritch horrors beyond my imagination. Today has just been a wild ride for me.
Might need to make the location change to Pennsylvania Ave for a greater effect.

Sigilos@ttrpg.networkto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is there any virtual pet device/app where you are the pet?31·3 months agoFinch is pretty close. Free as well. It’s intended to help with self care and mental wellness, could be a good fit for you.
Sigilos@ttrpg.networkto Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•We joke a lot but what is happening in the US is really scary.9·3 months agoMy friends and family are feeling stirs of panic, and it has pushed many of us to start taking a more active role in making our voices heard. Letter campaigns to Congress, joining activist groups and participating in those groups, and a much higher level of alertness towards government action are just a few of the more obvious results and changes I’ve seen.
I fear that it won’t be enough, but with young kids in our household we are trying to do what we can in nonviolent ways. The risk of prison or worse would take a huge toll on the little ones.
Sigilos@ttrpg.networkto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's an Executive Order? Where is it spelled out what the do and how they're regulated? Can they be vetoed by another arm of government?14·3 months agoThe problem arises when the person giving those orders authority hears “By order of the king” instead of “by directive of the president”.
The US doesn’t want a king, it was a big deal here about 250 years ago. Looking like it’s gonna be a big reminder for the 250 anniversary.
Sigilos@ttrpg.networkto Android@lemdro.id•Android’s new Quick Settings panel is looking better than ever in Android 16 Beta 3 - Android AuthorityEnglish2·4 months agoGross, it looks way too much like iOS for my taste. Glad I’m switching away from Google controlled android anyway, I’ll be customized back to the old stuff if I have to.
Unfortunately the country I was born in, the USA, is also one that voted against the international resolution to define food as a human right. 😕
