Great high effort post that hopefully will help some people interested in taking a look at this series before it’s delisted. Very interesting that both the modern-day Larry’s ended up so high, I can’t say I hear about them that often. Apart from Larry 1 for historical reasons it’s usually Love For Sail I hear about.
You could start at the Empty Child/The Doctor Dances too for another quality Moffat episode with more Doctor in it than Blink.
If it’s just in terms of toasting then it should be just on the edge where the texture becomes slightly crunchy, but still retaining moisture inside. The taste should not retain any dougheyness. The surface should have small patches of browning visible but the majority of it still be white.
I can not nap. I’ve tried, but I can’t fall asleep at all during the day. Hell, I barely fall asleep at night and that is with medication.
Like that post said on here some weeks back: the 90’s was ten years ago. 2005 was also ten years ago. Doesn’t make sense but that’s how it feels in my brain.
Heroes of Might and Magic III (but also 4 to a lesser extent and 5 briefly) were mainstays as hot-seat multiplayer when hanging around at somebody’s house. Always a good time.
The other real defining game of my childhood was Diablo 2. We played that on and off for probably over a decade growing up, every couple of years people would get the itch again and everybody would tag along. Was a real cultural touchstone in school.
I don’t eat sugar. Well, I guess it’s almost impossible to avoid all sugar completely but I don’t eat sweets, pastries, jam or any kinds of food with high sugar content. I don’t add sugar to any food I make and I always go for the product options with no added sugar if available.
Once you wean yourself off sugar it’s actually not that hard to stay away from it, it’s funny how that works. I have such low sugar tolerance now that eating candy makes me basically feel ill.
A banana with a tall glass of milk is both tasty and typically enough to set me right. And takes no time to prepare, which is a bonus for late night snacks so you’re not waking yourself up too much. I like to keep a banana in the fridge so it’s cold to match the cold milk, which makes it taste better together somehow.
It’s just the 90-9-1 rule in effect. We’re only at just under 60k MAUs. It’s a great number and makes for decent activity in the larger subs but if 1% of those are regular posters that’s… 600. That’s not really enough to spread across niche interests, so it figures that most of them lack active subs.
Yeah but that’s still an example of where we’re at, though: niche subs rely on single committed users doing 99% of the posting to sustain enough activity.
There’s nothing much to do about it at this stage though except try your best to be that user. We probably need to at least double our userbase for that to no longer be the case. Maybe more.
It’s my favourite take on a first contact story. I think you’d appreciate it.
I like just about everything about it really. It’s beautifully shot, has moments of great humour and moments of great horror, I love the gradually increasing tension of the journey into the jungle and increasing descent into madness and absurdity.
It’s just a great film. I think I prefer the Redux cut but both are good really. The documentary Heart of Darkness about it is also truly amazing.
Cliché answer perhaps but I do love Apocalypse Now. Was a very formative movie experience for me.
Ever read Roadside Picnic?
As a fellow Blue Prince addict I will take any chance to recommend others to join my obsession. Game is absolutely wonderful and everyone should play it!
My first thought as well. Good old times of triple boxing spy alts and whatnot. I still miss it sometimes.

One of my favourite small indie bands trained and used AI to make music videos for their most recent album. They were very upfront about it basically saying it was the only way they could have made the type of video they wanted as they simply wouldn’t have had the resources to do it another way.
I still don’t like AI art and I don’t feel great about it but this is the closest to a legitimate application of AI art I’ve come across.
And customizable automation can be a fun optimisation game in itself. I played through Dragon Age: Origins with the Even More Advanced Tactics mod and took great pleasure in setting up the tactics to be completely automated like a self-playing piano.
