I like a little scorch, but it’s too fine of a line that I don’t bother attempting it.

We need to switch to EVs to protect the environment
But also no efforts to keep vehicles from getting bigger and heavier, which not only uses more resources (in construction and during use) but also increases danger to pedestrians and cyclists.

I cast burning hands

Seems like the Opium Wars all over again.

Competitive human nature and tribalism are the problem.
If something that gives a competitive advantage can be done, someone will do it regardless of the negative consequences (often inflicted upon others).

This is metal underneath
Hopefully you don’t eat pigs then. They are one of the most intelligent animals.

Some things happen in my life way more frequently than statistical probabilities would suggest.
I’d rather not have a wallet covered in dead skin. They make all metal ones that function similarly.
Yup. No matter which angle you want to approach it from, bitching about funding schools is not a good look.

So you’d have states like North Dakota and Negative North Dakota?
Did you not go to school when you were younger? You benefited from those schools at some point in your life.

By choice. I loathe traveling around holidays due to larger crowds (and weather can be shit this time of year) so I just stay home. Having arguably the biggest holiday during a time of year that frequently gets bad weather was not a big brain move. I guess it works well for the southern hemisphere though.
I’m non-religious, so the holiday just means some time off work.

Reddit has a fucking hard-on for cast iron. I’m not really a fan.
I don’t use teflon non-stick but have had good results with ceramic-based non-stick. My second choice would be carbon steel, which has a similar “seasoning” process as cast iron, but I find carbon steel easier to work with compared to cast iron.

What genre of games do you prefer?
I don’t see them as much anymore, but ear gauges. Having a fucking poker chip installed in your ear lobe is certainly a choice.
I’m often slow to adopt new tech. Unless that tech actually demonstrates a benefit to me, I don’t really want to deal with.
A lot of this is due to cynicism regarding things like privacy/security, planned obsolescence, and enshittification. I also don’t want to adopt something that is then discontinued (“unplanned” obsolescence?), so I often wait until something becomes well-established.
You provided a good counterpoint. These self-imposed restrictions can become obstructive or even weaponized. It’s like a variation of weaponized incompetence.
These restrictions can also lead to people making onerous demands of others to accommodate.
No one has convinced me how it is good for the general public. It seems like it will benefit corpos and governments, to the detriment of the general public.
It’s just another thing they’ll use to fuck over the average person.
