“We innocent” was cropped out and I kinda liked how it originally said I’m innocent but they changed it to We Innocent.

I like to call it a significant career change.

This is not a rebuttal, I agree with everything you are saying, and i’d like to make a point.
Some would say these events are caused by their savior/Messiah. I think that adds to the hope that an alternative singular person would step up to “save” everyone.

It went from a must buy early this year when I heard about it to ehh… Maybe I’ll see what happens first.
Q The Misanthrope @startrek.websiteto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some things we should have on our resume?8·4 months agoI think it kind of depends on your career up until that point. I have a lot of certifications and work experience. I list my past jobs, bullet point out my accomplishments. There is no about me section, or paragraphs. It’s bullet points and a section for clubs, volunteer work, certifications and school.
If you have less experience then you may want to do schooling first, with projects and accomplishments, clubs, etc and then any work experience.
The idea is be truthful, but not modest. This is what you are capable of, tell them. I completed project a for b reason by doing c things which resulted in d success. Define those variables over and over again.

I am glad I signed up yeas ago though, it was a hopeful time when I assumed technology would help fix us, and give us answers, and help me know things no humans before us could know.
Half the crap I downloaded from them is meaningless. Family tree is proprietary, and everything else is in formats I don’t know what to do with. Not like I’ll upload it again but it’s just files I have with no purpose now.

I don’t understand how everyone else figures this out and I’m apparently an idiot.
Also do people expect all who use my server to start a VPN each time? What if they leave it on and their other streaming services are using my bandwidth.
I don’t understand and I have looked it up but I don’t see a consensus.

Mine still plays the vast majority of things perfectly, even hevc and 4k content. I am perfectly happy with my shield pro. I’d buy one again if the current one shits the bed.
What are my other options? Apple TV and what else? Everything else is ad ridden underpowered and lacking licenses to play media.

I didn’t want an Amazon device.
Q The Misanthrope @startrek.websiteto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's the longest amount of time you spent trying to find something?4·8 months agoAs a child, the house we grew up in had a very large tree in our back yard. I had a memory of burying some skeleton keys near it but couldn’t remember where. The house was old enough that we’d find skeleton keys occasionally and also as a kid they are special.
I searched for days, weeks, months… Digging holes all over the yard and under the tree. I recruited neighborhood kids and friends.
For two summers we searched for buried treasure. Never found them. Might have been a dream I had of burying the keys. I still think about it occasionally and wonder. The tree is long gone and the truth is I’ll never know for sure.

Q The Misanthrope @startrek.websiteto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why do People Choose BlueSky Over Mastodon?31·9 months agoThe year is 2034 and 96% of the population is unemployed because they are all forced to “do their own research” on literally everything and there’s no time to work. We all must research every niche topic to fully understand it before using it or the other 4% calls us stupid and lazy.
No longer are we allowed to just buy a shower head, or bike or sign up for email without sources cited and proof we know everything about said thing.
Have kids? Do their research too, no chocolate milk unless I’ve proven why it’s good.
Elderly parents? Don’t let them touch that Roku remote. I need a research paper on all the options I explored.
Sorry for all the sarcasm. I fix my house, I work, I mow the lawn and shuttle children to sports, and my friend says check this bluesky thing out, 30 seconds and I’m signed up and have a friend and a discover tab and a search that works. Life’s chaotic and I don’t want to be defined as stupid because I can’t spend hours figuring something out in place of something I think is more important.
All this not directed at you specifically but I guess it hit a nerve.
Q The Misanthrope @startrek.websiteto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why do People Choose BlueSky Over Mastodon?11·9 months agoYou’ve started this at least twice in this thread. People aren’t like that, just in general. Heck, I understood it and still had trouble picking a server for Lemmy and mastadon.
Do I want a single topic or domain to define me? Will a small server have popular posts? Will it have popular people? I can’t find this popular account because I’m typing in username instead of user+domain.
I created and deleted at least 5 before I gave up and just picked one. Is that what most people would do?
I don’t think you’re wrong, but I think you are not putting yourself in the shoes of most users who want to follow a celebrity or a train station or space agency and can’t even find their account.

Q The Misanthrope @startrek.websiteto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How many email addresses do you have?1·1 year agoI use simplelogin but mostly I still use an email that provides aliases. I break things up into five or six main groups. Content like games and streaming, shopping, social media, and a few others. This works as a general grouping for bookmarks, passwords, note taking, and emails.
I felt using a simplelogin alias for every site was out of control. For me personally I just need it a bit simpler.
Or Microsoft who randomly needs to verify someone’s identity before they can log into.tgeir computer but the user doesn’t have a smart phone. So they need to call someone trusted to have them log into their email from a different computer just to get the code so the user can log into their computer.
But that also means they didn’t have access to any saved passwords so a notebook helps.
I really should put Linux on her machine but then I have to show her how to do that too. It’s a lose-lose so I keep it the same.
I miss local accounts.
