Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Who are some people in powerful positions or 1%ers that are genuinely good people?
1·9 months agoI remember reading about that at the time but couldn’t find a reliable source to back that claim. Fascists and anti-vaxxers love to scapegoat Gates along with George Soros (and jews in general) so I kind of dismissed it as far-right misinfo. Sucks if actually true, though.

11·9 months agoHe is constantly buying farmland, to the point where he’s the biggest land owner in the whole US. This is seriously harming small farmers.
The “buying farmland” part is just a product of him being a billionaire tbf, it’s what he does with it that could be concerning.

1633·9 months agoClosest I can think of is post-Microsoft Bill Gates, with the humanitarian/healthcare stuff he’s been involved in. He was a total piece of shit as Microsoft’s CEO, though, what with the aggressive anti-trust practices and all. Not that the ones that came after were much better (especially Ballmer).
Sure, but reducing a person’s purpose to that (and their issues to a lack of it) is.
Find a job as soon as possible so you can make yourself useful and you’ll feel better.
At this point I’m fully convinced therapy is about making you a cog in the machine of capitalism and not about making you feel better and more realized as a person.

Surely there are some people that prefer the night schedule. The problem is capitalism and wage labor, not the fact that there are “inconvenient” schedules for most people.
That would be a dream for autistic people with heavy sensory issues. Mine are usually manageable, but it sure would be convenient either way. I’ve never seen any 24/7 supermarket over where I live; I guess it’s just not a thing in my country (or Europe in general, from my experience).
