Seeing the conservative reaction to this was my first realization that we were truly fucked.

I don’t mind the bear characters, but I hate these commercials because they are a constant reminder that a statistically significant number of people are not fucking wiping their assholes properly and are perpetually traveling down skid row.
“Nice tids”, said no one, ever.

He, “never returned”, because he tripped and fell in a parking lot. Unfortunately, he succumbed to the fall injuries days later. The headline makes it sounds like the AI killed him or created some plot to do so.

You are still making people do a curse conversion in their heads. So why even bother? Kind of like people who won’t say goddamnit, but they’ll say gawldamnit or something like that. Do you think you’re fucking tricking god? There are plenty of other words that can be used for emphasis.

KarlHungus42@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•People who have been in meetings to determine back to in office policy. What was the discussion like?11·3 months agoI happened to be involved in such a meeting this morning.
The conversation around the general policy was mostly supportive. The main concern is that we do not have an official policy in place and various teams are setting their own rules, which is occaisionally resulting in collaboration issues.
The other main issue, unsurprisingly, regards what we can do to make sure that people are actually working when they are at home. For the most part, people are getting their work done, but there are always going to be people trying to take advantage and we discussed ways to track that without getting too “big brother” across the board.
Sounds like we are going to implement a 2 day wfh allowance coordinated within teams, based on their schedules so that we have at least half of each team in the office each day, with exceptions for people with extenuating circumstances.
We are not going to put any kind of tracking software on their machines, but we are going to monitor overall output.

And it won’t stop with airlines either. Our entire lives are going to be a fucking auction model. That’s why we need a lot of vocal opposition now.
KarlHungus42@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Delta moves toward eliminating set prices in favor of AI that determines how much you personally will pay for a ticketEnglish11·3 months agoDelta has been by go-to airline for a long time. After reading this, I never want to fly with them again. Fuck them and anyone else who does this. If we collectively do nothing to put a stop to this practice now, it will be everywhere soon. I fucking hate this level of capitalism. Greedy fucks.

It’s really sad how local town councils are selling out their citizens for perceived personal gain, capitulating to companies who could easily afford to create their own infrastructure to support these facilities, but refuse to do so because of greed. trump admin will only embolden them through easing regulations and removing all accountability for the impacts they have.

I love to travel and I’ve been very fortunate to visit many countries outside the US. I just spent 3 weeks in Iceland.
I think it’s a shame that more people don’t have the interest or means to travel outside the country more frequently because I think it provides a lot of perspective about the reality of other countries and America vs the image that America portrays of itself and other countries.
