Uh, Android is the alternative to Apple’s iOS. Android is much more customizable.

Uh… fingers are not a good type of infrastructure.

01·2 years agoYeah, it’s relatively easy to make good money in crypto if you understand investing. There are a lot of things that are illegal in regulated securities markets that are not yet illegal with crypto.
I intentionally don’t invest in crypto, because it doesn’t produce anything. Any money you make is just taken from another investor, usually because they don’t know what they’re doing. When you invest in a company, you make products and sell them to customers. Something is created and rarely are people cheated.
The people investing in crypto are intentionally cheating uninformed investors in a way that is not possible in regulated securities markets.
This rage bait is so old the Simpsons parodied it:

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is chatgpt proof that standard tests are bad measures of intelligence
0·2 years agoBut intelligence is the capacity to solve problems. If you can solve problems quickly, you are by definition intelligent.
the ability to apply knowledge to manipulate one’s environment or to think abstractly as measured by objective criteria (such as tests)
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/intelligence
It can be measured by objective tests. It’s not subjective like beauty or humor.
The problem with AI doing these tests is that it has seen and memorized all the previous questions and answers. Many of the tests mentioned are not tests of reasoning, but recall: the bar exam, for example.
If any random person studied every previous question and answer, they would do well too. No one would be amazed that an answer key knew all the answers.
Bitcoin is just a scam in general.

“What can I do with it?”
“Sell it for more money to a bigger fool than you.”

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How do you deal with the thought of having to work for 40+ years and then when/if you retire, you're too old to do much?
0·2 years agoThe problem is not landlords, which have existed for thousands of years. The problem is that the first time homebuyer programs suck ass. They’re like “only 3% down payment! But you have to pay extra PMI, so it’s still expensive monthly.”
If the government really wanted to subsidize housing, they would subsidize home construction workers and materials. Right now old construction workers have to retire due to age or become contractors. So there are a ton of crappy contractors who have no business sense and a lot of construction experience.
Imagine if you could go to school for free to build your own house! Land in the US is almost free outside of major cities. The expensive part is workers and materials.
No it doesn’t involve abnormal shifts in betting. Only idiots would move from $5 directly to $100 per hand. Average gamblers start small and get excited too.
If you do it slowly, starting at the minimum and getting “excited” when the deck is rich in tens, no one will notice or care. Play $5 to $50 and order a drink.
The average card counter is a young single dude in a baseball cap drinking a water. Wear a fun outfit, get a free drink, and talk to the dealer. No one will notice.
And yes, you can count a shoe. You just need to find a dealer that deals about 70% of the cards.
Why do posters from Hexbear defend Russia so much? They’re not communist. If anything, they’re right wing.
Putin has a government allied with Russian business oligarchs and the support of the Russian Orthodox Church. He promotes the military as heroes. He cultivates a cult of personality. He personally controls billions of dollars. That’s textbook Fascism.
