The joke is that you’d think the reactions would be switched because getting called pretty is generally the nice thing and there dishwasher comment is usually meant as a sexist jab. But there’s a phenomenon among trans people in general but in this case among trans women in particular where especially early on in transition they tend to get very happy at experiencing the garden variety sexism that’s usually reserved for their aligned gender because it means the other people are seeing them as that gender rather than their agab and treating them as such.
Same is true for voting in a lot of places in the US. Cuz making Election Day a national holiday would be a “blatant power grab by the Democrats” (an actual argument against it Mitch McConnell made). Many places don’t have early in-person voting or adequate mail-in voting.
If you’ve gotta spend multiple hours waiting in line at the only polling place in your district that’s makes it hard to do without losing out on a day’s pay you can’t afford to lose.
I wouldn’t call it healthy if the reason that you notice you haven’t eaten is because you’re shaking due to low blood sugar because the last thing you ate was like a pop tart at 6am and it’s now 10pm.

Sorry for the late reply I completely spaced on responding to you. I don’t have a list off hand because we don’t actually have one. It’s something I want to do eventually. But like my oldest has a book called like Crafting with Cat Hair or something like that, my partner is really into Chuck Tingle who often has insane titles like Pounded In The Butt By My Own Butt. Basically anything you’d walk past in a book store or scroll past on an eBook platform and it’d make you say “What the fuck?”
My partner and I like to joke about taking our apocalyptically gay daughter to like a Hooters or similar when she gets older. i think it’d be hilarious having the two of them going selectively mute while my ace ass just enjoys some chicken wings not even paying attention to the staff. Just like “Nah I’m just the DD, they’re here for the Double-Ds.”
Guess my ace ass is getting prostate cancer then lol. I can’t even fathom attempting to do half that in a month.
One of my favorite decorations is a bookshelf with very prominently featured titles that make people question either my sanity or their own.
I love swimming for that reason yeah. I’d do it a lot more if I had easier access to a pool. I had been looking into places near me to go to but it’s hard to find times that work for it. Might get a little easier once the kids are a little older and we could take them easier.
More importantly though, that’s not being the people in the joke. It might not feel like it, but there is a big difference between seeing someone struggling with a limitation that you also struggle with and offering something that helped you, and someone who has no idea what you’re going through pulling a suggestion out of their ass and making it sound easy. It hits different when your suggestion comes from a place of seeing a shared struggle and mentioning what helped you.

This is probably the worst part mentally about chronic joint pain for me. i want to be active, I want to lose weight, but I’m sitting here maxing out what I can physically handle just doing my everyday stuff. On a GOOD day I get about 3k steps in and I’m feeling it for days after. It’s so goddamn demoralizing.
Then in my case I’m also taking care of my partner whose health has been declining and 3 autistic kids. It feels like I’m barely keeping up.
Messing with the wheels can too if your plan isn’t leaving it sitting on cinder blocks. A runaway tire can do some damage at speed. Or if heaven forbid the vehicle rolls. Definitely wouldn’t want that to happen.

Depending on where you’re at in the States it varies. Around where I live in western NY state they mostly don’t care about speed necessarily it’s more reckless driving. You could be cruising what would be 15-20kph over the limit for y’all and generally speaking the cops don’t give a shit as long as you’re driving for the conditions and with the flow of traffic. But they’ll nail your ass to the wall for half that if they see you weaving through cars without leaving stopping distance.
In a lot of areas I go through regularly they’re way more likely to light you up if they see you brake hard when you see them posted up than if you just cruise past them at a reasonable speed even if it’s technically over the limit. Hell, I’ve had troopers in traffic with me doing what would be like 120 in a 100 in y’alls terms not giving a damn because everybody was leaving enough stopping distance and we were all doing a steady speed not driving erratically.
Exactly. The time for nice is when they are not currently operating a multi-ton death machine where their reckless behavior could literally kill someone. They’ll get every bit of kindness I can muster outside of that situation. In it though? There is no Nice.
