Sounds great, yeah. I am not good enough at computer stuff to start an instance, but I would be really happy to join one. So keep me illuminated, please.
Maerman@lemmy.mlto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•when i type "hai", a dolphin emoji pops up and my phone's autocorrect switches to other languages sometimes. in what language is "hai" related to dolphins?2·2 months agoIt’s the same in Afrikaans. But there’s a 60% overlap in the vocabulary there, so it makes sense.

Maerman@lemmy.mlto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What’s your “I can’t believe other people don’t do this” hack?61·8 months agoSo I play guitar. I had a problem where I would sometimes drop my pick. Then, one day, I had an idea. I took some copper wire and attached it to a pick through a small hole I burned into it with a needle. I wrapped the wire around my finger. Now I physically cannot drop my pick.

What makes it interesting for you ?2·9 months agoI know I’m a month late, but I just came across this comment. Joel Haver is one of the most beautiful filmmakers I have ever encountered. He just has so much empathy for his subjects, and it feels like he really loves his characters. I discovered him a few years ago, and I am definitely in for the ride. There is not enough ass in the world for that man to kick.

Specifically, I like the ones told from the criminal’s perspective. Films like Double Indemnity, Body Heat and The Postman Always Rings Twice are great places to start.
