  • An opportunity for propaganda regardless of how his governance actually goes.

If he’s blocked from succeeding and refuses to try and subvert the system at all, then we explain to people how electoral pathways can’t be undertaken for genuine progress, at least not without a dual power structure being built alongside it.

If he’s successful, than the we need to use the momentum describe how the success was only possible due to the combined effort of the working class, and if we could achieve crumbs with this small victory, than we can take the whole loaf for ourselves with decisive organized collective action.

Use every opportunity at your disposal comrades.

  • I’m not entirely sure what to make of this…

Perhaps elements within the SDF refuse to go along with Jolani’s rule, and the US wants to force them in some way? Maybe the regime is refusing to attack the SDF outright due to an unstable situation?

I’m not sure why the SDF would show difficulty when they’ve been dutifully puppets up until this point. They might just think that Jolani is in a weaker position then Assad, so they might believe they have better negotiating power.

The whole rojava project is a stab in the back to anti-imperialism in West Asia, and I curse them for their role in destroying Syria. However I’m still worried about the fate of the Kurds with the current situation. The region needs less slaughter so I’m not going to cheer for the SDF’s dissolution in the current climate, not unless a faction allied with the resistance is able to return to power.

  • Perhaps I’m simply jaded but what good does a court victory even provide? Especially one in favor of a native tribe. What exactly is stopping Trump from ignoring the ruling and doing what he wants anyways.

It’s not as if a legal precedent without organized action can physically halt anything, nor is theory a mechanism for punishment/agency to inflict punishment on the administration if they choose to ignore it.

Of course there’s the fact that the US historically betrays every deal it makes with Indigenous people. So from every perspectives this looks like cope to me, unless activists or the local government does something to enforce it.
