Apparently, there were commercials in the 60s and 70s for the Ty-D-Bol (Tidy Bowl) toilet cleaner brand that has a little man floating about cleaning the toilet in a little boat.
From my interpretation, this is him and his family sitting in the bowl and someone coming to take a shit, hence the “full moon.”
I had to Google it.
NegativeInf@lemmy.worldto Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Far too many people think that Jesus from the Bible was light skinned, even though he grew up in what we call the Middle East.0·7 months agoThat was Revelations, which was written far after anyone who ever saw Jesus would have died, and describes Jesus’ divine form. The only gospel that describes anything about him was about a transformation. “His face shown like the sun,” but that is in Luke, so between 50 and 80 years after his purported death, and continued to be edited throughout the second century. So essentially it’s all made up and none of it matters.

If you drink diet Coke, you could drink about 15-20 of them before you get to the lethal limit of sodium in a grown adult.
So room to grow!

Just for things that have no relevant places or are easily categorized, but are important enough not to keep somewhere more out of the way. Always contains at least one item that makes it near impossible to open the drawer on first pull and requires manipulation to open. For my family, it’s usually a hammer.

Additionally, more derived/later species had aspherical lenses to compensate for the spherical aberration and dual layer organic→calcite lenses to allow for more of a refractive gradient to counteract the double imaging of calcite alone.
Modern arthropods probably done use it on land because of an inability to accumulate it in an efficient manner. Water arthropods like crustaceans probably done because it’s metabolically expensive to do these things when chitin alone can make for useful eyes.
Evolution is more of a “good enough” kinda situation.
NegativeInf@lemmy.worldto Science@mander.xyz•Question: What mineral/compound do modern arthropods use for their eyes (vs. Trilobites with their calcite lenses)?1·10 months agoFrom my searching, it would seem that trilobites used calcite to reinforce their hard parts as well. Crustaceans have amorphous calcium carbonate reinforced exoskeletons through mineralization, but no calcite land arthropods do not seem to have this mineralization tho.
I’m no expert. Just like using Google Scholar to answer questions I find interesting.
