The one that really impressed me was the capital on Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. At one point I was walking on top of the walls surrounding it and looking around for a nice screenshot and I was just in awe of how great that city was.

I skipped it for the same reason at launch. Eventually I dropped windows completely and that was no longer an issue, but I had already moved on.

Recently I had an opportunity to play it for a while and I was quite surprised that despite having many flaws, the game also has a ton of good things. Mostly quality of life changes but they improved so many things in relation to civ 6 that it’s an absolute shame they butchered the game itself with its main “selling point”. If they made a game with all of those changes but without the Eras system it would probably be criticised for not innovating much, but people would be playing it.

Personally I’m not necessarily against the Eras system, but the way they implemented it is just the worst. I’m fine with the idea of changing civs every era, but the eras themselves now feel like different matches of a game. Once an era ends, you have to drop anything you didn’t finish and start new goals, but everything you did finish will give you powerful buffs in the next era - so you basically need to work into achieving everything every time. There’s no room for playing the long game, or doing your own thing. If you set up the game to be so long that each era lasts for 400 turns, then you can achieve every goal and kinda get back that freedom to do whatever you want (to some extent) - but then by the time you reach the modern era you’ll have so many buffs that you win the game before you do anything modern.

I’m actually faithful to the Church of Last Thursdayism, so I do not believe that.

It’s like when playing the lottery, if you say you’re picking all your numbers in a sequence, like 1,2,3,4,5 and 6. People will tell you’re crazy because sequences like that “never” happen. But the same is true for every other combination of numbers too. The sequence just makes it clearer how unlikely you are to ever pick the winning numbers.

To this day I still don’t know what Vegemite is. To me it’s the thing from the sandwich from down under. And that’s good enough.

You know what? I just realized I haven’t actually tried to open a webp file in years. I’m just so used to cancelling the save dialog and taking a screenshot instead when I see a webp extension, I didn’t even consider it might actually be supported now.

He’s probably no longer there, the pic is quite old and Google has updated a lot of its street view stuff over the years. Unless this is some place where 2012 was the first time that google decided to map - in that case it may be pretty low on the priority list for updating.

Type N might not be the best but it was like a gift from heavens here in Brazil. We had no standard before it so most outlets would take one or two unsafe options; most houses would not ground their outlets, people would yank out the ground pin from plugs to make them fit; washing machines would often come with a completely different plug that some houses would just have a different outlet for, while others would use adapters. And so many other issues.

Nowadays you don’t even need to see what you’re doing because you can just stick your hand into outlets to feel where it is and insert the plug blindly without any risk.

Imagine getting a multi byte character at the right position to get it split so that one byte gets in and the other doesn’t.

A second vote for Core Keeper here. I think it’s a safer option than Terraria, which could also be a good option but isn’t for everyone.
