There, there. Everything is going to be the same but you’ll feel a bit less anxious about it. It will help you focus and chose to act where you actually can make a difference.

Funny@sh.itjust.works•You shouldn't worry about things you can't control
14·3 months agoJoking aside, this advice comes from epictetus Manual (also known as ‘enichridon’ or ‘handbook’). It’s very short, effective and (contrary to a lot of latter philosophers) very easy to read and understand. It helped me a lot fight my anxiety, you should be able to find it for free on the internets. Worth reading, in my opinion.

Please, tell me at least that it’s not intended to be put in the mouth…

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is it important/possible to separate the art from the artist?
8·4 months agoIs it possible to dissociate the note from the instrument? This note from a violin clearly comes from a violin. The instrument shapes the sound, even though all instruments can produce that note. However, that note belongs to me, now. It’s in my head. I can attach it to sad or happy emotions, or close my eyes and imagine a landscape with it.
I think this art/artist debate misses half of the action. Once the note or the art has been produced by the artist, it belongs to the public, that vibes with it in the way they chose.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What is the magic diet for no-wipe poops?
16·4 months agoYou don’t need to wax your ass if you produce teflon grade poops as asked in this thread. I found out week long feats of uninterrupted veganism helped, so i’d argue balancing fibre intake is key. But i’m not doctor, just like the person i just replyed to.

8·4 months agoI disagree. Boycott works. These days, you vote with your money in a more efficient way than any election. You seem to say the problem is politic. You know politics won’t change things. So you’re just saying it’s not your problem anymore. But the problem still exists. The enshittification stays there.

Games@sh.itjust.works•Warframe, Still A Space Ninja Game (Technically), Is Now Drawing Inspiration From World War IEnglish
19·5 months agoWarframe is an amazing game in its own right. You should try it (it’s free) just to see how they twisted all the tropes. It’s an mmo where you’re alone or with 3 strangers. You can gain xp from those strangers’ kills if you’re close enough. Everything you can buy is also available for free.
Very interesting and fun game, with a truly amazing story/universe.
