A thing to keep in mind is that a lot of tech companies still think people are more productive in the office and force you to come in, despite having metrics that say otherwise.

This isn’t really a question, but I’ll respond with my experience.
As a kid I had a mother that was incredibly health conscious. She always fed me “alternative” foods with strong flavors. It instilled a hatred for health foods in me, but it also changed my taste buds to have a particular distaste for sweet foods.
I am now in my 30s. I still eat healthy. I don’t binge eat. I stay away from overly salty foods. And guess what. My health is still a mess. I get what feels like food poisoning all the time. A lot of foods still make me sick.
At some point you need to realize that eating healthy is not always a solution. Healthy foods do not work for everybody, whether it be a severe dislike of the taste or allergies to the additives that are frequently required to make health food taste good. I have begun thinking it is better to have too many nutrients than not enough. It is better to drink a lot of juice loaded with sugar than it is to be dehydrated.
I would rather live a happy life for 40 years than an unhappy one for 80, especially given the current direction of politics and the fact I am now 50% microplastics.
In the end, you need to find out what works best for you and what makes you the happiest version of yourself.
As you alluded to, the developers will get exactly 0% of the profits from that price hike. Games today are very profitable at $60. The problem is that execs are eating into those profits before pissing the rest down to the developers. There is also a really shitty tech bro culture that many game studios have, decorating their studios with overpriced and expensive tat which should have been spent on employees.
+1. In addition, schools frequently side with the bully because it is easier to deal with a victim’s parents than a bully’s parents.
That is what I am hoping/waiting for. I’ve been looking to switch to an EV for a few years now but have been turned off by the price, lack of physical buttons, and poor battery performance in cheaper models. I am praying the redesigned Leaf will clear all 3.
Peak efficiency.
People can change, but don’t put your life on hold waiting for that to happen. I can’t say for sure what kind of person this is since I’ve never met the guy, but I can tell you that you will be waiting a long time if he is behaving how you described. Communication is incredibly important as a foundation for a relationship, and ghosting indicates they won’t be able to discuss things with you when things get really bad. This is a skill that is learned young and it is harder to learn it with age.
Let that flame die out and only let it be reignited if the person makes real effort to really talk to you.
Alongside this comment was an equally damning comment: “if your past games are competing with your new games then your new games aren’t worth buying in the first place.”
Having high quality parts is one part of the equation. The other part is having good firmware with accurate deadzones. It is impossible to do precision tricks on off brand controllers without adapters.
I would never accept food this thing has touched.
I am a massive anime watcher and I have this problem too. I used to binge watch a lot of shows, but as I’ve grown older I find I can’t project myself onto the characters anymore and I can’t relate to any of them. There is a severe drought of adult-targeted shows that aren’t pornographic or tragedy/horror in nature. It’s like adults are not interesting unless they are sexed up or murdered.
A lot of the good stuff has already been adapted (most anime are adaptations of some form of light novel or comic book), so in the past few years the production studios have been scraping the bottom of the barrel just to release something. It has resulted in a higher than average set of subpar works every season (3 months, 12 or 13 episodes).
Common sense, maturity, humility, and curiosity are all extremely important to me in a partner. Whether my potential partner is book smart is significantly less important to me than whether they treat others with respect and wanting to improve themselves.
With the superficial stuff out of the way, the bottom line is that the thing that matters most is whether or not I want to spend my limited time with them.
Hit the ground running deploying…pretty much anything.
Was running game servers on my Windows PC through Docker and they were super easy to set up. I got a new PC and decided to repurpose my old computer into an Ubuntu server to get some experience with Unix. I have only been more frustrated once in my entire life. Sure, once things are set up on Linux they are really powerful, but the barrier to entry is so absurdly high and running anything “out of the box” is literally impossible by design.
They tell us we don’t own the game, only a license to play the game that they can arbitrarily revoke.
If you are going to hold my right to play something I paid for hostage, you can bet I am going to reclaim what I lost if that access is taken away from me (this does not apply to you selfish assholes that hack games to cheat then get banned).
