  • Next up is music. It’ll start with jingles and the background music for commercials, then background music for movies and eventually most of the beats you hear on the radio will be made by AI.

I think the industry will still want to have real singers, so they can still make money on concerts. But the AI will be writing a lot of the lyrics for many of the big pop hits.

Your kids will be fed this garbage all throughout their childhood, and when they’re old enough to develop a critical sense they will just be used to it.

Poverty is such a weird concept when applied like this.

Much of chinas population were deemed as living in poverty, despite just… Living oldschool farming village lives like they always did. Might not have had much money, but they just lived like farmers and villagers.

Then a bunch of people invented a bunch of stuff, looked at these people who didn’t have those things, and said “man, are you poor! We better create some jobs for you…” and are now patting themselves on the back for taking these people out of their villages, and giving them the possibility to live for ABOVE 1.90$ a day.

    Oh wow.

So okay here is what you do.

You get up, go to work, spend all day there, go home, stay awake too long, sleep too little, do it 5 days then try to catch up on lost sleep in the weekend.

This way you will get as little out of all your free time as possible, and eventually get depressed and/or have a mental break.

    Good luck!

So? Its unmanned drones in a war. Why should we care?

There is so much research showing the moral issues of drone strikes, and how creating digital distance from the operator to the targets will easily lead to a higher count of civilian casualties.

I am all for Ukraine using drones to defend themselves against aggressors. But using drones in anything but defensive capabilities, where the civilians aren’t your people, should be highly illegal.

Depends on your kid. If he’s well liked, i don’t think its gonna matter. If he’s not, i would let him have the same stuff as his classmates.

In a few years, social media is probably inevitable. But if you can prolong it a few years, he might just find proper social media and not meta trash.

You’re completely right, both sides have speech they find unacceptable. But lets try to look at it a little closer, what kind of speech does the left try to ban?

Mostly stuff like racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, stuff that hurts others and keeps them down. But i agree, sometimes they take that too far. I think more left leaning people should focus a lot more on economic equality and workers rights.

What kind of speech does the right want to ban? Mostly stuff about their human rights violations, as far as i can tell.

Two sides of the same coin, i guess.
