Congrats, your doppelganger goes to your job and gets you fired. The monkey’s paw strikes again.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Does anyone know where I can find more songs like this?
9·9 months agoYou might like Igorrr. His style is a bit more metal than EDM. He combines classical and baroque styles with heavy modern electronic sounds, which you may like.
What’s up Joplin gang!
And judging by the shadow of your arm and phone, the lights are low.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If money was not an issue, is there a movie, series, or a video game you would fund as a passion project with no intention on making a profit on it?
1·11 months agoCool, yeah it’s hard to find actual symphony-heavy metal, proving your original point. You sound pickier than me when it comes to the vocals. I’m giving Blind Guardian a listen, really liking it so far too. Thanks for the recommendation!
Another I think you might like is Native Construct. They only ever released one album, with an instrumental version of it. They incorporate different instruments like saxophone that made it interesting. Native Construct - Quiet World (Instrumental) (Full Album)

1·11 months agoLuca Turilli’s Rhapsody alone has more than 12 songs. Expand your horizons my dude!
Edit: Check out Xanthochroid if Symphonic Black Metal is more your thing. Wilderun is Progressive with Symphonic elements and fantastic. And if you like Luca, also check out his other bands Luca Turilli, and Rhapsody of Fire.

4·11 months agoI would hire a ton of artistic, technical, and creative people, both experienced and inexperienced, and I would fund them and encourage them to create novel things.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•My dad let me tattoo him. What do y'all think?
6·11 months agoThe tattoos look fun and it seems like you both had fun with it. The skull has a whimsical look to it which I like, it gives it a sort of personality. Well done!
Now for some helpful feedback. Keep working on your lines. They could be more straight and consistent. I only see a few minor blowouts, you’re doing great already. The circles around the skull are imperfect, which distract from the main piece, especially the circle above the skull. Also, there is inconsistency in the size and shape of the dots. Overall, these are fun tattoos, and I can see you perfecting your skill with more practice. Keep it up, well done!

81·1 year agoLooks like you have the energy to make posts and comment on Lemmy. Use that energy to go on a walk or something for a change. For me, once I start being active, it leads to more energy, and more activities. Social media is exhausting in a whole other way. Trust me, you’ll gain the energy after you start walking.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•To the lonely people here... How do you survive these holidays?
14·1 year agoMy advice would be to make an effort to participate in group activities if you don’t already. Try to open up to a few people and see where that goes. For example, I started going to a run club last summer where we run at least once every week, and I continue to meet interesting people each time. Stay a little bit after the run to socialize. A lot of them it turns out joined so they can socialize and motivate themselves to be more active, just like me. You can start at your own pace, even walk if you need to, of you’re not a runner per se. We had a special holiday run last week where we celebrated afterwards with lots of games and activities at a bar/video game arcade and it was a blast. An added bonus is that now you’ll have fun social activities to talk about when you meet new people outside of the club. I’ve met people that are into board games, cycling, you name it. So that opens up new doors for other types of activities. It gets easier after you start going regularly and everyone recognizes you. Starting a conversation is as simple as asking how their day/run/whatever went.

Supporting genocide in Gaza; Supporting starvation wages; Slave labor in supply chains; Animal cruelty; Decimation of local businesses; Unhealthy processed food; And so on …
I’ve got about a thousand of those bad boys on the right! Mint condition, although they’ve been unboxed.
The idea of ghosts never made sense to me. Like ooooo I’m flickering this light and making creaky sounds in your house. ooooooo, be afraid! Then what? Just repeat that same thing day after day? Boring!

Sure, but this is the true source of his power and cunning ability.
