My brother/sister, it’s 2025. We’re 45 years into American conservatives shrieking “bias” every time something less conservative than Goebbles says something. If you think anyone with any level of exposure to American conservative media (i.e., most of Lemmy) is going to react any way other than extremely negatively to you obstinately tossing around “biased” every third word and “just asking questions,” you’re gonna have a bad time.

Honestly though, it’s a good way to weed out that 70% with antiquated conceptions is gender norms which will probably cause problems later in the relationship anyway. If they get that offended over splitting the check in a first date, they’re probably gonna hold you to unworkable heteronormative expectations later, too.

As if the deterrent effect is from the possibility of suicide by cop instead of, idk, a critical mass within a community of armed people.
