Which is kinda funny, because from what I gather, it’s even less private than some of the large social networks. (everyone can see everything vs one entity sees everything, but no one else).

Turns out the shit bag is as far away from the ethos of superman as you can be. Fuck him for staining a childhood favorite portrayal of one of my favo characters.

Perfect description of how I read books. Never bothered me. Never even realized some people have a vivid visual imagination until it became a recurring reddit topic a few years ago.

It’s a me thing, I couldn’t get the hang of parrying in elden ring, and not even in botw can I do it. But put me on e.g. Interrupt duty in wow, and I won’t miss a single interrupt. I could time the bonus jumping attacks in Mario rpg games without any issue.
I’m not a bad gamer by any means, but for some reason I can never ever get the hang of fucking parryibg.
Firipu@lemmy.worldto Games@sh.itjust.works•Parrying Is The Worst Thing In Video GamesEnglish10·23 days agoI hate parrying so much. I can never get the hang of it in any game. I can play twitch shooters at a decent level, I can play the most challenging platformers without any issue, my reaction time is OK for someone of my age, but give me a parry mechanic and it all falls apart. For some reason, my brain cannot handle video game parrying.
I ended up downloading a mod that extends the parry window by 500% in Claire obscure. I still fucking fail at it at times. It completely ruins the game for me :(
Firipu@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How long do I need to exercise for before I start seeing a difference?English14·24 days agoI started at 35. From skinny fat to visibly “are you lifting” took me about 1 year. Looking “big” took 3-4years. I gained about 15kg of bw, probably about half fat and half muscle. The hardest part now is trying to diet down a bit again. Much harder than actually working out imo.
I did workout using a squat rack at home.
Still the best decision I ever made.
Firipu@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Those of you that back your vehicle into parking spots, why do you do it?English2·26 days agoNo, because when you drive out forward, you can start turning the front of your car faster. Hard to put into words.
I asked AI to explain. It can do it better than me
[r/NoStupidQuestions] Q: Is it better to back into a tight parking spot or drive in forward? Won’t you get stuck driving out?
A: Backing into a tight spot is almost always better. Here’s why:
More control: When backing in, your front wheels (which steer) are free to pivot, giving you tighter, more precise control. Your back wheels just follow.
Better exit: When it’s time to leave, driving out forward gives you better visibility and a wider turning radius—no more blind reversing into traffic or trying to edge out slowly.
Why you won’t get stuck driving out: The same space you needed to back in is more than enough to drive out. Your front wheels can turn sharper, and you can see what’s coming. Even in tight spots, driving out is usually quicker and safer than reversing.
TL;DR: Back in now, drive out easy later. Your future self will thank you.
Firipu@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Those of you that back your vehicle into parking spots, why do you do it?English6·26 days agoReversing in is actually easier. As your car can turn tigther reversing than going front in.
Guess it’s a non issue if you have massive parking spaces, but when space is tight every little bit helps.
