2 years agoOP isn’t asking for it to decrypt automatically. OP is asking for the entering the decryption password to also log you in. That way you only have to type the password once, instead of twice.

It doesn’t matter whose at fault at the end of the day. If it doesn’t just work™️ the average joe will never use it.
The open source vs closed source drivers is a whole separate issue too, and only makes things worse for the noobs.
Nvidia is by far the most popular dedicated GPU manufacturer out there. If distros can’t figure out how to make it “just work” then Linux will never take off outside of the nerd market.

1·2 years agoIt’s like gas prices early in the pandemic, but not quite as bad.
They grossly overproduced, sat on a stockpile that couldn’t sell which costs them a ton and had to sell them for nothing. There’s nowhere for the price to go but up.
How many movies do you actually need to store on the device itself? Apple has been all in on streaming stuff so you’d only ever need to actually download stuff when you’re planning on going offline.
That said for it’s price that’s hilariously small storage, but simultaneously peak Apple.

Apple classifies a product as technologically obsolete once more than seven years have passed since the company stopped distributing it for sale. The original Apple Watch was discontinued in September 2016 … so the first-generation models recently crossed that seven-year mark.
These devices haven’t been sold in 7 years.

That already happened earlier this year and is unrelated.
What does this have to do with the Apple Watch being banned from being sold?
We use their CDN, and they do our load balancing for work and they’re great at it.
Does the size of a 6kb program really make that much of a difference?
Side note: If I’m reading this right (ignoring dependencies) sudo is 6kb while doas is 14kb.
