Most of the things I use are a few years old but nothing crazy old. Some t-shirts are maybe 10-15 years old in some cases, I guess that’s old for some. I have a lot of hand tools that are maybe 50-100 years old but they get less use.

It was in certain pot hole fillers interest to ensure the pot hole continued to need to be filled so they could continue to fill holes, so despite filling a hole once the gas ensured they’d have to come back again and redo the job and get paid multiple times for the same hole.
When pot holes were regularly filed, workers would pour gas on the tar to make sure they could eat and have a job next week.
Years of work, meetings and sleepless nights worrying about how to move forward on the many design and implementation decisions, the family sacrifices, all for shit.

I think the show Severance covers this topic well even though the premise is slightly different, I believe the result would be the same. You have a fork of your existence basically since the self and its experiences are local to the entity of the particular snapshot and you’d grow and diverge. How much you diverge depends on the environment and stimuli you experience.
