It started refunding deposits for the $16,000 extra battery pack.
You are correct. People make mistakes, not everything is “a narrative”.

We’ve kept the interest we made while rates have been up and now you can have it back while they’re dropping. Of course, your money is now worth less than it was when you gave it to us during high inflation. Suck it losers. Love, T E S L A”
EDIT: deposit was $150. Still shitty but not the same impact
EDIT 2: Or $2000? … tl;dr: shitty

They had an unobtrusive but instantly recognisable ad-format that was reasonably tolerable and text-only. It was once they started showing sponsored search results that it became apparent they were willing to be subversive to get clicks.
Their whole image was built around user trust and the moment they had everyone hooked they 180ed.

Super wholesome way of saying that everyone is important. Also we got the plane scene which was the best nostalgia hit I’ve had in a while.
Let the hype train keep on rolling!!! 🚂

Ding ding ding.
Everyone is so focused on AR glasses having some killer use case that must justify it’s existence. The use case is simply not pulling a phone out of your pocket; not waiting for face ID, tapping your way to the necessary app, and so on.
Removing these micro inconveniences has always been Apple’s forte (even if a little stagnant in recent years), so it’s no surprise that they will continue to pursue the same.

killeronthecorner@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What do you think about collecting your own data and running your own algorithms?English16·12 days agoWhy is it when I miss a day of Daily Show it’s eviscerated from my feed entirely, but no matter how many Jordan Peterson thumbnails I hastily pass over, they still appear week in week out?
To date I’ve watched one JP video: Matt Dillahunty verbally tearing him a new asshole.
The right wing rabbit hole is real and, even if you’re explicitly against it, YouTube is like “if I can get him to watch just one …”, because they know they’ll have you watching videos like the guy from Clockwork Orange in no time. It’s disgusting.
Pro tip: never press “do not show me this” on right wing videos, just skip over them. That engagement causes the algorithm to mark you as emotionally triggered by politics and they’ll just shovel more of the same in your face. For them it’s just a roll of the dice, and the value of them flipping you is too high to avoid.
killeronthecorner@lemmy.worldto RetroGaming@lemmy.world•Wii Homebrew Community "Built On Lies And Copyright Infringement"English51·13 days agoLooks like someone decompiled it and compared it to RTEMS code.
What I don’t get is that RTEMs appears to be dual licensed, with one being under BSD… So they would just need to attribute somewhere and then they would be fully compliant.
Maybe the bigger picture is more complicated than that though.
It’s all of the above. It’s always been a useful folk devil when one was needed.
