Excel is proprietary software made by a company that achieved monopoly status by intentionally designing “compatibility issues” into its products. If you’re telling me you have a business need to use the Microsoft Windows desktop version of Excel specifically and nothing else will do, then throw your PC in the garbage and pay whatever tithe Microsoft tells you to pay. Or more specifically, have your employer do that if it’s their decision anyway.
We can debate the tactical merits of this or that individual action forever. Was it worth it? Was it the right time? Was it the right target? What could they have done better? What’s not debatable to me is that it accomplished infinitely more than a hundred lifetimes spent posting on social media, writing to the imperial congress, or holding signs at permitted peaceful protests. There are 2 fewer people engaged in the extermination of the Palestinian people today than there were yesterday, and the world is better for it.

Nothing about the cruelty of Biden’s immigration policies is news to anyone on this website. Biden will never be president again. The Republican Party currently holds power in every branch of the imperial government. The current administration openly promises to conduct an ethnic cleansing campaign that would traffic hundreds of times more people than the Indian Removal Act.
“Democrats are also bad!” is a point worth analyzing seriously when they have any degree of institutional power, or to an audience that sincerely believes in the Democratic Party as a vehicle for structural reform. Neither of those things are the case in 2025 on an explicitly Marxist-Leninist website.
The idea that “a handful of MAGA lawmakers”, who are all open white nationalists, opposed the Biden administrations immigration policies out of concern for the well being of immigrant children is absurd on its face. The idea that we should entertain evidence-free Pizzagate and QAnon style stories about Democrat cabals engaging in secret child organ harvesting conspiracies based on testimony from a random ex-CBP agent is nonsense. This is akin to people who would insist that Alex Jones has valid and important points that we should all take seriously as communists because he says “both parties are bad” and “the government is lying to you” in between paragraphs about how “Sandy Hook didn’t happen” and “the Judeo-Bolshevik reptilians are putting 5g nanobots in the drinking water to feminize your kids in a plot to wipe out the white race”.
I can’t imagine Blackwater and other PMCs have the bodies to replace the entire US military, and I’m skeptical that they could realistically recruit a comparable number of bodies that quickly for even less pay without the emergency recruitment tool that only the government has (conscription). Even if Trump did want to reshuffle everybody that’s currently in the military into a the private sector, what that would practically look like is firing them all, giving contracts to the preferred companies, then hoping that the fired people all apply for lower paying jobs at the preferred companies. Even assuming you got 100% of the fired soldiers to voluntarily do that, it’d be a massive, slow, and disruptive transition that would leave the imperial military totally ineffective until after the transition’s complete (if then) while also giving up conscription as a tool to backfill cannon fodder.
When the global capitalist business model depends on keeping a gun pointed at the head of the world, I can’t imagine who seriously considers putting down the gun for a bit and expecting the hostages to wait patiently while the empire takes it apart looking for ways to make a cheaper gun from the parts. I can’t imagine any world leader wouldn’t see even a temporary imperial demilitarization of that scale as the single best opportunity anyone will ever get to drive a stake through Dracula’s heart and act accordingly.
