Games@sh.itjust.works•Divinity - Official Reveal Trailer | The Game Awards 2025English
8·5 days agothe tone of Divinity
Have you forgotten Braccus Rex’s funhouse in Fort Joy? If Larian had had the technology, I’m sure it would’ve been close to the trailer’s tone.
Not at a loss. We still don’t know the prices of the new wave of hardware, but some Valve spokesperson has said that they wouldn’t subsidize the price of the hardware with future game sales. They’ve also said, when the Steam Deck was launched, that affordability was a massive factor in the design, and that some of the decisions to make that happen were “painful”.
I know this novel strategy that Valve employs might be difficult to conceptualize for people whose thinking only extends as far as “company evil, success bad”, so let me summarize it in a format that is easier to understand:

Such devastation was not his intention.
It’ll be such a massive and catastrophic crash when the body can no longer handle the stress.
Isn’t she the one that falls madly in love with the player if they foist a mammoth tusk upon her? I remember her being a bitch to Carlotta, which puts her on the same level as Nazeem.
i3 has tabbed windows, and it stands to reason that Sway should have it too.
Hyprland has window groups: https://wiki.hypr.land/Configuring/Dispatchers/#grouped-tabbed-windows
Niri has a feature like that, but a little different since it’s a scrolling tiler. A column that contains two or more windows can be switched to tabbed mode, which displays one window at a time with full height, but you can’t have a tabbed group that is a member of a column, only full tabbed columns.
You try being happy about it when a game costs $240
At least that would’ve made the traffic interesting. Fender bender directly followed by nuclear contamination of an entire city block.
Imagine a government so cartoonishly evil and/or stupid that it would develop nuclear technology, then use it to extract fossil fuels more profitably. No need, the USA tried.
“A story is not a machine that does what you tell it. A story is a beast with a life of its own. You can create it, shape it, but as the story grows, it starts wanting things of its own. Change one thing, and you set off a chain reaction of events that spreads through the whole thing. The characters have to be true to themselves. The events need to follow a logic that fits the story. A single flaw and the magic is gone. The story dies. - Alan Wake” - Sam Lake
Established rules and constraints must be consistent throughout the story, otherwise nerds on the internet with nothing better to do will call you a hack. See: the new Star Wars. Force healing, my ass.
It’s impossible to know based on the current understanding of particle physics. A black hole is formed when the inward gravitational force exceeds the outward neutron degeneracy pressure of a sufficiently massive object, which is what keeps neutrons from occupying the same space (not really, it’s complicated). Beyond that, only conjecture exists with no evidence, and the information paradox makes it impossible to observe the space inside the event horizon.
Rotating shifts are lovely. I used to work in a factory for 3 years that did weekly day/night/afternoon shifts. Living in perpetual jet lag did fucking wonders to my circadian rhythm and blood pressure. The pay was amazing, but not BP over 200 and falling asleep at the wheel amazing.
Fuck that. The morons who scream WOOOOKE at everything they don’t like that doesn’t fully cater to their worldviews are part of the reason why those shows and movies suck. Blaming bad writing on any kind of agenda is giving the writers and showrunners an undeserved scapegoat.
Yes, the latter seasons of Doctor Who were an atrocity, but it’s not because of the Doctor’s female incarnations (although the retcon itself is still horrid), it’s because Chris Chibnall is a fucking terrible showrunner and dogshit writer that makes even Moffatt’s writing look positively adequate. Fuck you, Chris.
I have strictly limited overtime with high bonuses and mandatory rest days, afternoon/night shift bonuses, 20 days minimum fully paid vacation, fully paid maternity leave, fully paid sick leave, healthcare paid through taxes, all written into law. Feels nice to live in a place where workers have rights. Sometimes I don’t even know what to do with all this legally mandated freedom. Anyway, how’s that deregulation going, America?
That is a magnificently executed thought-terminating cliché, but if I may offer a rebuttal: nuh-uh!
The Mythbusters did it! They couldn’t even get up to speed to begin the first experiment because the traffic jam formed naturally.

That’s just Python’s generator syntax. Not all that difficult to parse once you get a feel for it. Plus syntax highlighting helps.
