I had a different post that didn’t really answer your question. A real answer is that it might not be as much of a problem as you might imagine. Biometric verification is really insecure: something like a 1% false positive rate for fingerprints.
Ideally people would just use passwords like back in the olden days. Longer strings are more secure than random characters.
Edit: should clarify this was for fingerprints unlocking an iphone
This phrase is currently running riot at my work. Leadership have just created a new “North Star” so that they can Kingdom Build and leave their mark; years of progress on other projects are being thrown on a mini-bonfire of the vanities.
Their logic is that women are a historically oppressed group and that certain rights are a zero-sum game. They would say someone who has been born a man has forfeited male privilege and therefore don’t have a right to anything which “belongs” to women.
If our discourse wasn’t so polarised people wouldn’t become entrenched like that but social media has made ration/empathetic discussion impossible.
Yeah kinda solved that issue by marrying someone from another country
I’ve had several occasions where I’ve seen doppelgangers out in public in my city but I’m 99% sure this is because I was a sperm donor baby. It was totally anonymous in the early 90s.
Could do one of those DNA test things but I have less than 0 interest in meeting a bunch of half siblings. Sounds messy. Already got two parents who I’m happy with.
I am one of the few people that prefered EU to CK. I prefer trading/economic management system over the royal family micro-management.
I think they deliberately mess with the formatting text in exported to “word doc” format files from LibreOffice too.
It’s very good but M$ make every attempt to avoid making it interoperable with Word
“Let’s explore that topic more”
Oh snap I should have read more comments before posting about “double clicking”. I hate it.
I’ve been hearing “velocity” a lot recently and that also makes me cringe.
Can we “just double click on that” for a second?
shudders
I live near a big public park and it would be strange if there wasn’t someone juggling there on a sunny day.
You’ll get better advice if you don’t panhandle. Agree with the poster above that I personally wouldn’t give money to a stranger like that.
You need to speak to a citizens advice organisation or a charity to find options for consolidating your debt into payments you can afford. They’d rather get their money back than nothing at all so the debtors will work with you. If you are ignoring correspondences because they are scary then stop doing that because it will make things worse. Things will get better but you have to be proactive.
I wouldn’t rely on ko.fi or venmo from strangers. Even if some angel pays off all of the debt you won’t deal with the underlying issues in your lifestyle that have got you jnto this situation.
There’s no drama like FOSS drama.
Agree with the other comments here saying that not everything in life should be viewed through the prism of politics. Civilised society is comprised of people putting their differences aside to work together on various endeavours.
The reason he’s good in Uncut Gems (and Punch Drunk Love) is that there is something genuinely frightening in how unhinged he seems when he is acting.
Leaving Las Vegas is genuinely devastating and that was his 90s peak.
He does recapture some of that magic in a recent one called Pig but that film benefited from a bait and switch marketing where they implied it would be like John Wick but was actually completely different.
My friend’s father transitioned to a woman but she kept calling her “Dad”. Not to invalidate her identity just that they were both happy to continue describing their relationship with that term.
