To explain, I read about this many years ago. It’s about a journalist who tried to find out what was happening with TrueCrypt, and it turned out it was apparently connected to serious criminals who were killing people, etc. The story is actually really interesting, and I’d love to find the original piece. I have nothing against TrueCrypt, and in fact, I used it back then and still use it now (VeraCrypt).

177·1 year agoI don’t know why you think that religious and non-religious people can’t be together. That very attitude tells me that I would never want to go on a date with you. My wife and I have been in such a marriage for 15 years, we have two children, and it works just fine. In my opinion, the problem is the fanatics; they are the cancer of this world, and when I see that someone is a fanatic, it tells me to run away from them.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's a website you've heard of (besides Lemmy) that you're sure nobody else here has?
4·1 year agoAI: It sounds like you might be thinking of “The People’s Republic of Canada,” a satirical website that depicted a fictional communist version of Canada. It featured humorous content, including fake news articles, propaganda, and other comedic takes on Canadian culture and politics.
Also AI: The domain for “The People’s Republic of Canada” was typically found at prc.ca. It was a humorous site that parodied a communist version of Canada.
Of course you are allowed and I’m ready to listen
No, I’m not an expert in climate change, which is why I don’t talk about it and don’t push anyone’s agenda. Maybe other non-experts should do the same. But it doesn’t matter.
Have you done any research or are you just repeating doomsday propaganda like a parrot? By the way, there are quite a few well-known scientists who claim that we are heading towards an ice age, and they have nothing to do with leftists or right-wingers. If you want, I can look for links, but I don’t believe you’re actually interested; you have your own views.

Rootless podman, PostgreSQL, redis, nextcloud, nginx, iptables in one…
I don’t know, I had Nextcloud for a year on a local network and I didn’t have to set an address. The bigger problem was that some applications do not accept self-signed SSL, so I had to change their code, and I don’t really know how to code for Android…
Fair enough, personally I prefer to skip a few steps and then try to figure out what’s going on. It’s not the best approach, but I find it more interesting.
Gentoo is a bit more complex than arch so if installing Gentoo manually seems daunting I would recommend staying on arch.
Why? How will he progress if he don’t try harder things?

That wasn’t the article. It was in some lesser-known magazine (maybe even a blog) and it wasn’t about ISIS or the terrorists we know today. It was written specifically about the guy who created the program and his connection to drug cartels, if I remember correctly.
