I have a few firearms. All are unloaded. Every damn time I touch a gun I eject the magazine, and check the chamber. Alllllways assume a gun is loaded. I even check again before packing shit away just to ensure the habit. Now magazines? Those fuckers stay loaded. Same for the reloaders.

  • How about everyone respect the land they’ve had for decades and stop trying to rekindle colonialism? We’re talking about Russia and Ukraine and you’re bringing in other entities into the discussion? Try keeping the train on the tracks. Russia already took over Georgia and Crimea in the past 20 years, just a slow progression to reacquire the good ole Soviet Union. If countries really wanna get the band back together, they’d do so with votes or formal agreements. When foreign tanks roll across borders, any claim of a peaceful integration is a fucking lie, and is in fact a bullying, aggressive act of war.

  • Maybe you’re right. I’ve never tried burning blurays. The cost and error possibility just leaned me into using hard drives for storage. They last longer, are less likely to damage, and far cheaper. Even a used drive still has a few hundred thousand writes left, usually.

  • Point to point network. Fun fact, you can invert an old satellite dish and mount a wifi antenna in place of the LNB and shoot your wifi for a mile or two this way. Back when high speed internet was still rare, hobbyists practiced different ways to extend networks to poorly covered areas. This was one of those ways. Then fiber was run across the country and everyone got their hopes up… to see the telcos say “out of money, sorry, keep using our dsl until we get more handouts to install the last mile.”

  • I replaced my jazz drive when burners became more popular and cheaper. I could buy 100 cdrs for the price of a zip disk. I only had a zip drive to begin with so I could work on my high school projects in computer graphics class from home (ah, going back and forth between Windows and Mac in 1999… it sucked)
