Sadly, they are probably more known for that shit. I don’t think I have liked any Metallica songs since the infamous “black album” came out.

I love Hollow Knight and what I have played from Silksong thus far, but this elitist “game must be ultra hard and exclude people that can’t do it” shit is and always has been a garbage take as far as I am concerned. Having some sort of option to allow people that aren’t that good or have accessibility issues enjoy the game seems like a fine thing. Having those be optional should in no way prevent people that like the hard default settings from enjoying the game. Maybe have those options disable getting achievements/trophies if it prevents these elitists from enjoying the game knowing that their “lessers” are also able to enjoy the game.
If it’s anything like I hear they just play Enter Sandman and Nothing Else Matters and lump it in with Ozzy’s Crazy Train and consider that their hard core “classic rock”
Please tell me that “milktoast” isn’t something that people eat.

Do they just record the video to a usb drive, seal it in a bottle, and throw it in the ocean or something? Wouldn’t posting it online revoke their hermit status?
Nearly everyone thinks that they are immune, but we’re not, we just recognize some that probably wasn’t targeted at us. As far as I am concerned, the only way to not be influenced by propaganda would be to completely avoid it and be some sort of hermit.

I only have a single Windows machine in the house at this point for specific corporate stuff I need for work.

I’d take that page with a grain of salt, especially since it is quite old and not all of it valid anymore, but I agree that generally you hear the good things about Matrix. Even disregarding what that site has to say, I’d give XMPP a look. XMPP likely isn’t all rainbows either, but I like the traction it is getting and it did a lot of things right in my mind.

I’m not the person you replied to, but a lot of my friends that pushed us to initially use Matrix have grown unhappy with the direction it’s gone and really dislike the clients. I personally host a private Matrix server and I am fine with it for now, but I’m able to avoid most of the drama and bugs by simply not moving to the latest and greatest. I always liked XMPP in the past, but I haven’t used it in a few years. I am glad to see it picking up support and hope that some of the things I didn’t like about it (which I can’t seem to recall at the moment :) ) are no longer problems or at least may get some traction on resolving.

I confirmed this with my own SDR years ago after seeing a presentation about it at DEFCON.
Nine Sols is great, and I agree completely that they did a good job of adding those options. I didn’t end up using them, but I bet it let a lot of people enjoy the game that could have hit a wall in Hollow Knight or people that just couldn’t grasp the parrying mechanic.
