“Ripping away the retirements we have earned is a betrayal of the sacrifices made by service members and our families,” he said. “We should not be thrown into economic hardship or made to feel our years of service are regarded by our country as meaningless.”

I think our leaders were very clear with their “fuck you” to trans service members. You have been deemed worthless. That’s the disgusting state of America today.

Worthless is an understatement. Trump has made it clear that Trans people are not even a thing. You do not exist. Trash is more important then Trans people to them.

I wonder what troops thought of their trans members. I suspect they treated them like the gay Marine in Generation Kill. Everybody knew he was gay, gave him loads of shit, but he was no less a team member.

I served with a trans person, on a ship no less. People still said insensitive shit behind closed doors, so I can only imagine what their private thoughts might have been. I never saw anything overt and everybody seemed more interested in how well she did her job, but I bet she would tell it very differently.

The “gay marine” named Rudy Reyes, who talks about his girlfriend and certainly isn’t gay? You mean that one?

But the point you’re erroneously attempting to make is valid: whether people are straight, gay, trans or other, they are your team member and, if they do their job well, should be treated no differently to anyone else you trust your life with.

They spent their careers murdering, destroying, coercing and intimidating on behalf of the government and are surprised now to find the government aren’t very nice.

I do feel for them, but they volunteered for a system known for torturing and murdering innocent people, and also for treating veterans like garbage. How is this not a case of leopards eating their faces?

Yeah, it’s hard to feel bad for murderers. Americans will simp for murderers as long as they fit the right identities.
