Switzerland, 35 days of vacation but that is just the company I work for, usually it is 20-25 days. Also an additional 7 days of national and communal holidays.
I usually go on short vacations, 3-7 days.

I can give you some issues regarding press freedom in Switzerland. One issue is the Federal Banking Act which is a major concern because it can lead to self-censorship among journalists. If a journalist reports on leaked bank data, even if it’s in the public interest, they risk facing criminal prosecution and up to three years in prison.
Adding to this, recent legislative changes have made it easier for individuals and companies to obtain injunctions against upcoming press publications. Previously, they had to prove that the publication would cause considerable damage, but now they just need to feel that it will affect them.
50% of my code is written by Intellisense…
I tried it (Mostly cursor, cline, claude code and the new copilot agent mode) a few times, maybe it will get better at some point but right now I am incredibly slow doing it and the mental load reviewing changes and trying to get it to do what I want is incredibly exhausting.
That is not true, we use Vision/LL Models to extract data and structure said data from documents. It is amazing how easy it is compared to OCR and needing to know where which information is located.
How? We try to adopt AI for dev work for years now and every time the next gen tool or model gets released it fails spectacularly at basic things. And that’s just the technical stuff, I still have no idea on how to tell it do implement our use cases as it simply does not understand the domain.
It is great at building things other have already built and it could train on but we don’t really have a use case for that.
Softwaere engineer in Switzerland, I work 36h a week, 5 days a week. I start at 8:30 and usually work till 16:30 which gives me plenty of time for my hobbies. Company is fully owned by its workers which is not bad eithet even though 50℅ belong to the top C-suite managers (which they bough from their bosses when they left the company, so the shares do stay with the employees). I make around 110k CHF a year (which is nice as I only pay like 6k in income tax). Pretty happy.
Yes, but I actually would pay them for their services if they guarantee me that they will use that money to improve Firefox and Firefox services. I want to be a premium user of Firefox, but instead of trying to monetize their core userbase they annihilate them.
I actually like their advertising business idea and their other services and I understand that they need money but is whay they are doing right now really the best way?
Firefox, while I dislike their new FAQ and TOS I build it from source and the TOS does not apply.
I wish they would make Firefox Sync a self hostable product that they also host for you for like 5 bucks a month. I would pay for it (or any other way to directly give money to FX instead of Mozilla) like I do for Bitwarden.
This is perfectly legal, the law only says that the user must freely choose to allow the website to save said data. You can opt out here and not use that website.
Yeah it is awesome, it just cost me a year of my professional career without any real benefits…
And our military is mostly regarded as a joke, I am seriously not sure why we even have it. It would probably collapse in days if it needs to defend our country.
My Laptop and Phone have encrypted drives, my Desktop doesn’t.
Ukraine made some mistakes under the Minsk Agreements, like delaying certain implementations and occasional ceasefire breaches, but these were often reactions to continued attacks. The larger issue is Russia’s violations: it broke the Budapest Memorandum by annexing Crimea in March 2014, violating Ukraine’s sovereignty. While the Minsk Agreements came later, Russia also undermined them by arming and supporting separatists in Eastern Ukraine. Blaming Ukraine ignores Russia’s clear role in starting and escalating the conflict.
Preventing the complete loss of their sovereignty—essentially preserving their nation in the face of aggression?
Pinned tabs still exist in 19a, and essential tabs carry over to other workspaces which pinned tabs don’t.
Or is this an upcoming change?
Climbing and playing DnD, started both hobbies this year, love them and practice / play easily once a week.
GeForce2 MX
Maybe not number one but I weirdly enjoy airplane food.
What? You mean there is not a single country without Nazis? Oh the heavens. Nazi groups in Ukraine are still an issue (as they are everywhere) but maybe something happened that was more important. Don’t know what though.
